Tiki-Shag-Lowbrow art/artists on TV documentary....

Caught this cool documentary on the Ovation Channel last night. It's called "The Lowdown on Lowbrow". Interviews/commentary and topics touched on include Shag, Tiki, Surf culture, Hotrod culture, Ryden, Roth, Von Dutch, Robert Williams, Isabel Samaras, The Pizz, pin-ups, tatts, La Luz de Jesus Gallery, Copro Nason Gallery and bunches more....extra cool, catch it if you can.

You could probably get a show listing from the OvationTV website http://www.ovationtv.com/. It's crashing my Safari browser for some reason so I can't tell you next time it airs.

I've heard of this doc. but I'm not sure if I have ever heard of the Ovation Channel. But think that I just that one. Would really like to catch the show though

Tuesday Aug 21st it will be aired at 10pm (EST) and 1am...Then again on Sunday August 26th at 4pm (EST)and it's a one hour show...now I need to see if I get the Channel!

Good documentary. Lots of SHAG art and interview footage. Probably even worth buying.

That was a good show. I watched it 3 or 4 times. I saw a lot of the comics I grew up on like Zapp and Dr. Atomic. I like that new art channel it was on too,...Ovation? Cool!

I don't get Ovation on my cable and am considering purchasing the DVD. Does anyone know if there's any footage of Coop on this show? If so, how much? Next to Shag, Coop is my favorite artist.

Coop is not my favorite artist but I love his blog. I check it out at least once a week. I think that he loves the camera more than the paint brush lately, but if I was seeing what he was, so would I.
