Did we say that right? Somerville, MA?

Okonkuluku villagers!

Brother Cleve , producer of our latest album Rendezvous in Okonkuluku and fellow musician/mixologist, writes this week's WAITIKI spam-a-letter about this non-typo gig! We also wanted to mahalout to Bargoyle, Scottes, Johnman, and all the others (Especially those who crossed state lines) to see us at the wonderful Beehive in the South End last week. A killin show! http://tikiroom.dreamhosters.com/tikicentral/bb/viewtopic.php?topic=16548&forum=4&start=720 - scroll down to Scottes post for the wrapup and some amazing canonical photos.

And now, for those who missed it...from Br. Cleve about the next gig:

Friday, 9/14
Somerville Arts Council's Hawaiian Nights
8pm, free
Union Square, Somerville, MA

"I know that, if you're like me, when you think of Hawaii, your thoughts turn to images of pigeons, bus shelters & belching buses, ethnic groceries, Brazilian bakeries, Punjabi gentlemen on benches conversing, the Midnight Spa, and of course, Ricky's Flower Mart.

hmm......sounds a bit more like Somerville. Can one go surfing on the Mystic River?

Probably not, but this Friday, for one night only, Union Sq is going to be transformed into the mythical Honolulu of your dreams. Enchanting diesel fumes will overcome your senses -- think of it as the "Orchids Of Somerville".

VDA Productions and Arts Somerville, in conjunction with the Somerville Arts Council (is there a Director of Redundancy in the house?) present "Hawaiian Nights" this Friday Sept 14 (rain date: Saturday) at 7:30 in the heart of Union Sq (over by Toast and The Independent). Enjoy the exotic sounds of Waitiki and The Mai Tai Serenaders, DJ'ing by yrs trly, hula dancers and Polynesian dance arts, vintage films of Hawaii and Polynesia, and other special events! There will be refreshments (Virgin Mai Tai's, etc), though not the full bodied kind you'd get at the Kowloon or Tiki Island, if you catch my drift.

This event is free and open to all ages. Hope to see you there.

Aloha!
Br. Cleve"
