Trader Vic menu 1967 ..

Pages: 1 2 replies

Just a question ... I was given a Trader Vic menu by a friend a few years ago - it's a brown tall menu dated 67 with all pages intact - food, drinks, prices etc. Can anyone fill me in on how common or rare these are? I'm just trying to get some gauge on the value of this piece.

Cheers, S.

Well, like anything, it's as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it. And while I'm not an expert, I would doubt that your menu is particularly rare because:

  1. Trader Vic's is still around and not some long lost tiki place
  2. Trader Vic's is a chain so most likely there were many copies of the menu produced
  3. Trader Vic's doesn't change its menu too often so more than likely there isn't much on it that is different from a menu of any other year.

That's not to say you couldn't post it on ebay and sell it for a bunch of bucks. Like I said, as valuable as someone is willing to pay for it.

Thanks mate,

I'm not looking to sell it or make a buck but it's nice to know the basic value of a thing and your answer helped me out on that front ... appreciated!
