Iron Power Source: Rotary Tools, Battery Vs. Plug-In

Pages: 1 5 replies

I'm in the market for my very first rotary tool, however I can't make up my mind between Plug-In or Battery powered.

I find myself drawn to the portability of the Battery powered, while the Plug-In seems to doesn't have the downside of running out of juice during mid project.

For those who already have 'em what have you found you like/dislike about each?

i haTE battery powered tools for the simple reason is that they always seem to run out just when i need them most....save yourself a headache...get a plug in and if you need that much mobility, buy an extension cord...

RR

Buy both if you can.

B

get the POWER First and Then go for portable when you Need that!

J

Get power with a cord, you'll be much happier. Rechargable batteries never seem to last real long.

Thanks for the input guys, in the end I went with your collective advice and picked up the Dremel 400 XPR tool set at my local Lowes. Now I just need bits and some stone to get some practice on. Wish me luck.
