Aloha TC Ohana~

This is Shakatiki's (Wes) friend Pua at House of Tiki. We've been in the process of moving to our new location and are preparing to re-open. But that's not why I'm writing... Our beloved "Got Aloha - Shakatiki" sign from the front of our shop on Newport Blvd. in Costa Mesa was stolen. His value is only sentimental since Wes created him and he was lovingly restored by our friend; artist, SCAT (Jason Roberson). He doesn't think it's a big thing (other than the bad mana that the thief has heaped on himself!), but I think maybe the TC Ohana here in SoCal could keep their eyes open in the area for our friend. It seems sad to me to reopen at our new location without our wooden hoa aloha. Of course, he can be recreated, but it seems the original, who has been with Wes since he opened H.O.T. should be home where he belongs. Someone out there apparantly doesn't know the meaning of "Aloha" since they took him. Please keep your maka open. Perhaps, with your kokua, we can bring him back to the Hale.

Much aloha and many mahalos, Pua at House of Tiki

Wow! That sucks! I remember that little guy from my two visits to House of Tiki. I'm up in the SF Bay Area so I doubt that I'll see him up here, but I'm sending good wishes your way and sincerely hoping for a heap of bad mana to come down upon the idiot(s) who stole him!

Please remember to let us know where and when the new store will be opening!

Aloha Jen~

Indeed, it sucks! Mostly, it just hurts my heart that someone could do that. Kinda miss the guy, ya know? Anyway, as you say, I doubt he'll show up in the bay area, but...you never know. I've heard stranger stories!

Yep, yep, yep, I promise to let you know when we're open. Watch your mailbox; both snail and E. Cards should be going out within the next week or two!

Me ke aloha.

Just walked away... got tired of staying outside !!!!!

Sorry to hear that. I was there for the Grand Opening Luau of Hot Lava Java, and it was a great time. I love H.O.T., and look forward to seeing you guys at your new location.

I really wish you guys would continue with Hot Lava Java too, but I heard thatisn't happening.

Best of luch finding SHAKA TIKI.

If you don't mind a creative suggestion from a newbie, TSP -- you need a legend.

A legend guaranteed to cause some feeling of unease in the parasitic brain of the tiki snatcher. Something about your missing character bringing on mucho bad luck to the unrightful possessor.

Once you've concocted the legend, print up and post at your shop a flyer to the effect of "warning" the thieves that their karma is in serious jeopardy until the item is returned, no questions asked.

Allow psychological suggestion to work its course. Offer, as well, a small reward for info leading to restoration and you might get your fella back sooner than you think.

Bummer on your loss, we just had an expensive motorcycle cover "cut -off" my wifes bike this week. They need to fear me more than karma!. Oh, BTW, suggest to your artist pal to change his nickname, he chose one that is a direct reference to fecal matter in the porn ind.!.

Mahalo, for the suggestions. We actually have put together a "WANTED" poster. We'll see how that works. Either way, within minutes of posting, Ken (LittleLostTiki) was kind enough to offer to make us a new Shakatiki. Ohana is such a great thing! Mahalo Ken.

TwoWheelinTiki...Yes, our friend knows the "connection" to his name, however, he had the name long before the other industry and it holds much more meaning to him than that. He lets his artwork speak for him. He's Tiki Ohana. That's what's important. http://www.scatkstmp8nt.com

Mahalo everyone for all your good thoughts! Malamo Pono. Pua
