Shag Ceramics 2006 Japan Exclusives ???

Some information would be great. I was able to pick up a couple of the vases and a decanter, but I'm totally diggin' the plates. Haven't seen those too much. Is there some place else other than ebay we can get these items?

I asked Holden about them. He said a friend was manufacturing a limited quantity for Japan sales only. I was able to buy a set of the Tall Mugs, through e-bay.

I expected a few to come through ebay, but it appears that they will be available on ebay for a while.

Where did that photo come from??

It would be interesting to know the original prices, just to get a baseline as to how jacked the ebay prices actually are. Too bad it's Japan only!

I collect japanese vinyl toys and I post a bit on a japanese toy forum. Everyone there uses celga. Its defintitely a major operation, I would not fear using it.
I think those plates are actually incense holders.
yen is at 103 to a dollar? I have a module on my computer which tells me daily the yen rate, which shows it at 111 to $1. But it could be that organizations only update their conversion every so often.
Basically for yen prices just move a decimal point over 2 spots and thats about what the price is in $.

Good info thanks guys. I just think they made a ton of this stuff, I like them but I'm not willing to pay 3 times more than issue when I can but those dollars into LTD pieces. It looks like the e-bay prices might be dropping a little? Or is it just me.. lol

Yeah, if it all came out a year ago, why is it all hitting ebay now? I'm just wondering if we might soon discover a direct source...hopehope. The ebay mark up is a bit much for me.

There are several Japanese websites selling this stuff at the regular prices. If you can read Japanese and Type in kanji (sp?), you may be able to ask them if they will ship to the US.

BlackFish, did you hear it was an open run? many of the auctions say limited edition or sold out. I'll have to dig up my email from Holden to confirm what he said.

I placed my order!

They were only selling two of the three vases. I was hoping to get all 3.

The decanters and vases have sold out, but they still have some mugs available.

Man, those are going or have gone pretty fast. I wonder how many pieces they had. Their e-mail said there were only 12 full sets. I got an order in on a selection of different pieces at least.

I placed my pieced out order in about 5 minutes. I checked on availability of sets after I was finished and they were all gone. It wouldn't surprise me to see much of this hitting ebay in the next couple weeks.
The one vase that I wanted was the one they didn't offer. Oh well, I still got pretty "lucky"(see broke).

I tried getting a full set. I don't know if the order went through though. They said that they would notify people by e-mail if their order didn't take. Sadly, I can't access my personal e-mail from work.

I will most definitely have a coronary if I got everything that I tried to order. Hope I can pay my mortgage next month...

These Shag Japan products just went on sale yesterday at Shagmart.com! I believe they are all sold out...

It will give you a good idea of the retail value for those products on ebay. I expect there to be a lot more of these on ebay, now that they have been sold in the US.
I was able to purchase a few items prior to them being sold out.

Actually, as I recall, some people didn't receive their Hut until 2007.

Forgive me for getting back to the topic of these Shag mugs, but has anyone's order shipped yet?

There's a hold on my credit card for the amount of the charge, but the charge has not posted yet, and I haven't received any sort of shipping notification.

Though this soap opera is interesting, some folks might be more interested in that shagmart has restocked some of the items that were sold out. No decanters or vases though. Good luck to those who didn't get some on the first wave!

Did anybody else notice that the order page that Shag Mart put up had the images for the decanter sets flipped? I wanted the red Moai set and clicked on the image, but my order form clearly stated that I'd purchased the other set!

I called and left a message and sent them a note, but I don't know which set I'm going to end up with...

Anybody else order a decanter set? Check your receipt.

I can't belive they have more tiki mugs and two of the spice bottle styles left oh and one of the handled mug styles left toooo.

I'm in the same situation as you Tiki-Kate but even though I haven't received a shipping confirmation I was hoping maybe my package would show up today. It didn't.

Now we can get back to the Ohana Hut Drama. Of all the Tiki Drama, Ohana Hut Drama is my favorite.

Aloha! Ya I actually ordered the Shag Elua Decanter Set and did not relize until Shagmart sent me an email asking me If I really wanted the Red Moai Set.. My receipt said I had ordered the Red Moai though.. Truthfully would have been happy with either though :wink: Tumblers still available, I got mine off ebay for just a little more than shagmart and came in perfect condition bubble wrapped in a boxs from Japan.. I love these mugs..

I got an email from shagmart about an hour after my order went through asking which Decanter I really wanted. The wrong one showed up on my receipt.

Seems they caught on quickly that their shopping cart had them switched.

Can't wait until they arrive. I'm hoping to trade my Elua Decanter set for the Elua Vase.
