New member--Question VIVA 11 Tiki Pool party??

Hey all,

I've mostly been a lurker, but I have a question. I have been to Viva 4 times, but haven't been in 3 years. This year I decided to drive there (since I'm only 5 hours away now), but I don't want to buy a wristband this year. I know the car show is free to anyone, but I was wondering if the Tiki Pool party will be open to everyone.

I reserved a room for Saturday night, so I will be a guest of the Orleans, where the tiki pool party is being held. If I remember correctly, it is just one huge pool and I can't imagine they would shut it down for non Viva guests--http://www.orleanscasino.com/hotel/pool.html

I mean the hotel is HUGE and I just can't see that happening. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure before I get all excited about it!

Last year the pool party was still at The Gold Coast and no wristbands were required. I suspect the same will be true at The Orleans this year. Every year I’ve gone, the wristbands were just to get into the vendor rooms and see the bands play.

I believe you do need a wrist band to get into the vending area at the Gold coast. Last year we got right in to the Gold Coast vending area (no wrist bands) but I think that was because it was during the car show on Saturday.

If you're looking for another tiki party (free) I (along with other sellers) will be selling at the Orleans hotel, upstairs in Toulouse room. VLV does not do much promotion for the vendors up in that area but we are part of the show. Hope to see ya then.
