And since Leap Day only happens every 4 years, and since Tiki Taix is turning 4 why not come celebrate in a 44 year old lounge. Party like its 1964! Ali Lexa kicks off the festivities with some fun with uke. Ali is the southlands ukulele ambassador as he hosts his monthly Ukulele Spotlight on KPFK radio and has interviewed some of the finest ukulele players in the world at the station. As he prepares for his performance at the Uke Festival of New York he will play us some of his trademark beebop uke and then join King for some ukulele madness! PLUS Brian Chidister, co-author of Dumb Angel #4 magazine and expert historian on the early world of Exotica music, will be joining us at Tiki Taix and sharing video samples from his archives of early exotica film. Clips from Brian's vault are not available on DVD or video and are not always suitable for children. (Depending on how you dress your children.) ALSO David Murray the latest export from the Irish film world will be on hand to lend a dramatic flair to the proceedings in an effort to welcome St. Patrick's Day which is just around the corner. Only an actor of the highest level from around the world could tie in St. Patrick's Day with our Tiki party just north of the lagoon. Mr. Murray has appeared in the films "Batman Begin's"(2005)"King Arthur"(2004) and "Veronica Guerin"(2003) among others. AND King Kukulele and The Friki Tikis bring you more Hapa Haole songs then you can shake a stick at. The night will include guest Ali Lexa playing along on exotica, original, and improvised music. It's an anniversary celebration of L.A.'s longest running Tiki Show! King Kukulele will also premiere a brand new song about Leap Year that may never be performed again until 2012! We bring back our 2nd Anniversary gifts of 2006, each guest will receive a reproduction of the Hawaiian Village Hotel's pink "Coconut Bulletin" of October 20th, 1957.
