Actually I got the feeling that many (local) TCers passed by this post upon reading the term "culture" (and not finding any keywords like "Hot Rods"..."Cocktails"...or"limited edition Tiki mugs" :wink: )

The Easter Island Lecture by Nancy Lutkehaus, Ph.D. from USC would be interesting. I wonder if she is Joanne Van Tilburg's (UCLA Easter Island Specialist) arch nemesis. Van Tilburg (and all anthropologists) refute all of Thor Heyerdahls theories but maybe Nancy Lutkehaus will finally give Thor the recognition he deserves.... or she could just be like the rest of them.

GROG wanted to go to that one, but it's at 1pm, and we're under-the-gun at work, so GROG can't take off. :(

The movie on April 23rd looks interesting, also.
