Coming on Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18, at the Smithsonian's Museum of the American Indian, in celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.

A HAWAIIAN FESTIVAL

A celebration of Hawaiian culture through art, history, language, dance; including hula performances by local Halau, hands-on demonstrations, Hawaiian music and storytelling, special films, lectures, and much more.

  • Hawaiian Implements:Lua weapons, kapa beaters, and fishhooks
  • Plaiting and Weaving: Mahiole (helmets), fishtraps, baskets
  • Lei Making Demonstration
  • Hawaiian Featherwork: The Art of Feather Lei
