Wicker or Straw 1950's-60's Hawaiian Inn souviner hat

Pages: 1 4 replies

I've been helping clean out a family members house over the last few weeks and have found numerous tiki mugs, alot of them were from the Hawaiian Inn located in Daytona Beach. They traveled yearly to Daytona back in early 1960's for a nascar race and the Miss Dixie pageant and apparently enjoyed Tiki items. Anyway, today, up in the attic I found this hat hanging on the wall...

It is straw hat with yarn spelling "Hawaiian Inn"...I know this isn't a tiki item but does it fall under the kind of thing that a tiki collector would be interested in? Any opinions or thoughts? thanks!

Um, sorry, but no. Very common hat. Magic marker writing. Sorry...

The writing is stiched or embroidered, this could be the real deal!

It is the real deal...the hat came from a family member who vacationed every year in Daytona Beach and kept many tiki items, I've sold several tiki mugs from the Hawaiian Inn on ebay over the last few weeks that I found in her attic. This hat also came from the attic. The writing on the hat is yarn that has been woven and glued into place...it is a very nice item...check the tiki marketplace for more...
