Is this not the one the discoverers wanted to name Xena?

Xena, the warrior plutoid!

Makemake is a very neat name for it. A great nod to Rapinui.
Except, of course, in Hawaiian "make" means death and destruction.

Makemake was also the Mai Kai's version of rumake I believe.

I was eating "deathdeath" all this time and enjoying it? Yikes.

I wonder if NASA will do the interior of the space shuttle in tapa cloth now.
Maybe Ben's working on a top secret lounge inside of the ISS.
Maybe they'll wake the astronauts up with Waitiki.
I also seem to remember some space tiki mugs by my arch nemesis: flounder.

It's all coming together - the space age and polypop reunite after all these years.
Thanks for the link. Fun read.
