Dishonest Ebayers and Suspicious Account Users

Pages: 1 21 replies

I'm surprised this hasn't already been posted, but here is a place where you can add ebay user accounts that may be fraudulent. By no means, does any post made here mean that the named account is fraudulent, but seems suspect and to be used by TCr's who experience fake buyers, or sellers who failed to communicate or send merchandise won. Shill bidders on Tiki related auctions should be exposed, as well as the false non paying bidders accounts. It can ultimately help TCr's awareness of such troubled ebay users.

The best way to alert fellow Tiki Central users would be to include the Auction User name, Account type: (B) bidder or (S) seller, auction number, Item Description and brief explanation of what makes the auction seem suspicious.

I'm not sure this is the place for this.

A TC member tried to rip off a bunch of people on ebay. The ebay name was "noticetrucker", here on TC he is "heatmizuh".

He is the same guy, the email that was associated with his ebay account, paypal account and here on TC all matched. I even talked to him on the phone.

He posted here about selling some Shag prints back in 2006.

Hi all!

Here is a list of some Shag serigraphs that I am parting with. They are all in mint condition, and I am the original owner.

Masquerade Party, #87 - $400
The Stairs, #185 - $300
The Effects of Space Radition, #137 - $350
Kava Kava Man, #89 - $350
The Incredible Bartender, #82 - $350
The Smiling Widow, #17 - $250
The Missing Suitors, #85 - $250
Tomorrowland, #52 - $250
Frontierland, #52 - $250
Music After Midnight, #57 - $300

The price beside each one is what I have invested it in. I'm not trying to make any money off of these, I just want them to go to a good Shag-loving home. Shipping should be around $10-$15 for each one depending on where you live, with the expection of Masquerade Party, which is huge, will be more like $20. (of course, you could probably MAKE money by selling em on Ebay, but I don't want to go to the trouble).

I can send pictures, descriptions, etc., but I am sure most of you know what these are. They will be sold on a first-come, first-pay basis. I'll take Paypal, check or money order (checks'll hafta clear first though).

Please, serious inquiries only -- I can be PM'ed here, or you may contact me at troy(dot)roberson(at)gmail(dot)com

If you have ANY questions at all, please let me know.

Thanks!

Troy

He listed the first 4 of the above prints on ebay, collected the money and never sent them out. The 4 of us that won them all paid with paypal, after all being charged more to do so, and got our money back. Use caution when buying any of the above prints.

Mark

Thanks for posting this.

No problem. It started at this thread:
http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=29793&forum=12&27

But I didn't want to continue derailing the original post. Lots of "suspicious" ebay accounts on that thread, but some have seemed to pay. Thats why I didn't list the names here. I figure this could be the ebay "bad experience" with {insert ebay user ID here} for future reference, and to try to help keep Tiki Central ebay users a little more safer!

Ok folks....we have another one here and this has been going on for years....Is it a Coco Joes or a Coco No? This ebayer goes by a few names...First is Mrbonedaddyz and a newer one is
uncle_bernies_stuff. Following are some examples...listed as original...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260315777912

This is not an original and he offers this one and one with cigarette burn damage...cast from a damaged original...There were many clear versions of different hula girls and Peles sold also. All listed as originals. First the clear ones were "found at a trade show" years ago  He's making these also...

On the newer ebay name...

You notice that the inventory went up considerably...Now there are more pendants and amazingly, more things to be found in the warehouse...More BS folks...Funny what a trip to China can produce...

Just a warning folks...don't be like these innocent buyers that have been had...

I'd have to answer yes to both questions...they were cast from originals And they are new knock-offs being wrongly presented to the innocent public!

Heres the latest batch...

Notice their Hapa wood version and the clear cast hula girl with a light emitting base...

LT

A fair bet that the Disney stuff that he's selling is unauthorized; probably running extra pieces out of the manufacturing facility in China.

HOK

Beware Coco Joe's and HIP collectors....He's at it again.... If you see a different or strange looking Coco Joe or HIP item on Ebay... it's probably from this guy... mrbonedaddyz . All supposedly "found" in his monthly-yearly warehouse cleanup

Alot of people are being "HAD"...again. Hopefully this may help some TC'ers...hopefully not too late....

These are being made now and are not vintage or rare....just be honest!! Amazing what a little lightbase can do to a clear piece... Jack the price way up...thats what it does...:(

Very interesting... I've collected vintage Coco Joe's for many years now and had noticed some odd pieces on eBay in the last little while, including a couple featured in this link. I had no idea people were making fakes, but you could definitely tell there was something off about them. Thanks for sharing this!

I've found fake Coco Joe's here in Thailand, not marked as such but reused molds.

While not a dishonest posting, it rubs me a little wrong that Gecko is making 450 Ku Ku's so everyone can get them at a low price & one is already up on Ebay going for $50+. I guess if one doesn't do their research they are welcome to pay the higher prices. Still selling on Gecko's site for $20.00-I bought an extra one for my son's upcoming 10th birthday.

K

I'm ordering two of those! I love that mug!
