CONGRATULATIONS! Timothy Steger, aka "Tiki Nomad" on a fabulous tribute to the Mauna Loa mug. We're a fan of the dodo and so excited to be carrying it in our shop! Nomad, could you explain the meaning of the dodo for this mug. I know birds are important in tiki and that birds are great examples of PNG art. Does the dodo have something to with extinction of tiki bars especially the Mauna Loa? |

Well Teakey, some things are better left unexplained.......although I like your connection! The "Tiki" in general is and has always been somewhat exotic and mysterious and I think the mauna loa mug, not unlike alot of my illustrations, is best left up to the observer for interpretation...enjoy and ma halo!
