This is my third attempt, having never carved before any constructive criticism would be welcome. I will prolly do something to jazz up the top of his head - I just haven't decided on what that would be.

GROG provide constructive crticism---- you mispelled the word "probably". You spelled it "prolly".

If this carving is 1" tall it's really good. If it's 4 feet tall, you got some work to do.

Actually, just kidding. I like this carving; it has gesture and some cool lines going on. And it looks different. Keep at it!

Are you going to stain & finish it?

Hey, not bad.

As far as spelling goes... "prolly" is actually kinda common in speech anyways.

It is pretty good for one to four inches. Might it be cedar? Say, from a cigar box maybe??

K

It is about three inches tall, carved in butternut.

Keith

i think its pretty damn groovy for a 3rd piece!
I like the "mohawk" head as it is.. =o)

B

i like it!
i have been wanting to get a hook knife for awhile to try some small pieces

more tools more tools

This one is great. Bold, clean lines! The butternut is fun to carve but is a bit too soft for fine detail. Lets see some more!

Nice ! Lets see some more!
