Stunt Womens Foundation Poker Classic

O

The Stunt Womans Foundation held their annual poker tournament in Malibu on Oct 11th.
Annie Ellis president of the foundation started the it after her friend a fellow stunt woman was disabled during filming and needed around the clock nursing.
Annie is a stunt woman and her father Richard Ellis was a stunt man but better known for carving many of the Tiki in the fifties and sixties at various Tiki locations.
His work can still be seen today the Tonga Hut and Kona formally Sam's and the original Tiki and signage from the Tonga Lei in Malibu that he did in 1959 which are in the family collection. He carved dozens of Tiki for the Trade Winds alone.

First prize was this custom long board made for the event.
Patron donated all the liquor including the Citron and Pyrat which made a pretty good mai tai even without orgeat using some garnish limes.

A lot of good energy in the room during the poker tournament. Pure passion for the game and without money being the main object it was cool to see the friendly side of poker for a change.
The silent auction had some great donations like a 3 day race car course and the Tiki Dog and Cat Food gift baskets. ( Great band too. BTD they were a surf band, where were you?)
