My wife, who has been enormously supportive of this tiki-thing I'm going through. Brought me back a "tiki mug" from the Philadelphia airport. Clearly, it is derived from the outrigger mug, which I hope to own one day, but it is a cool iridescent cobalt blue glass. On the bottom it is labeled “Magic Sands,” which I understand to be a Peter Vizzusi in Aptos, CA; but I have yet to figure out what other tiki derivatives he might sell.

Hopefully the picture is accessible at:

Hey jtiki, I have that same mug which I bought at the Santa Cruz Art Festival last year. I didn't see any other Tiki derivatives from this guy, just the same mug in other colors...but that was a year ago.

I have one of those as well! I got mine from Magic Sands at the ACC Craft Show in Baltimore earlier this year. The guy there explained that they're cast from (and I quote) "some old tiki mug". They also have a "monkey" looking mug... or should I say glass?

It's a nice contrast to my Munktiki/ vintage stuff, I think.

we just found two of the magic sands mugs based off of the omc mug in dania, florida ~ wrested from the clutches of the locals tikiphiles.... oops... but yeah, they are very cool!
