I found this site after I found the below site. I noticed that if you type http://www.tiki.info it takes you here. I guess here is a pretty cool place to be.

Tiki is a Wiki* which has forum features among other things. It is free and you may want to check it out if you are looking at setting up a forum.

  • What is a Wiki? A wiki is a system where the users can edit the pages they navigate, version control and permissions can be used to prevent vandalism. Tiki is a easy-to use extensible and easy to customize CMS system based on a Wiki system.

Has anybody thought of setting up a Tiki Central wiki? It seems to me that there is an enormous amount of information strewn throughout the forums. Organizing it into an encyclopedia format would be incredibly useful for those looking for tiki bars in Iowa, for instance. Rather than having to scroll through page after page of forum topics, there could be wikipedia entries sorted by state. The same could be true for musical artists, tiki craftsmen, commercial retailers, you name it. The continuing saga of the Mai Kai is the topic that really got me thinking about this.

Just wondering if this has ever come up.

Thanks for the heads up about this. I never knew this existed until now. It still looks underserved when you compare it to all the info on Tiki Central. And I can imagine that the problem is to get people to participate. I am hoping to add more tiki information about Brevard county in the future...
