I agree, I Love the slightly different take on the Moai. Any time you can carve a Moai and make it identifiable as a Moai while adding your own take on it, you're doing Well. I'd love to see a couple other profile shots if you have them.

been at it about 1 year. I've done about 5 carvings, 4 within the last 2 months. I'm trying to get more productive. There's a lot to learn. Tools, sharpening, carving, woods, finishing. You know the drill. I've also been intimidated by all the talent on this site!

Don't be intimidated. Most of us started out just like you. There are plenty of folks here that are very willing to share info. Keep carving... and posting!
