Monthly Hawaiian Luau ... in Texas!

Pages: 1 3 replies

This story about a Hawaiian flower shop / restaurant in San Antonio called "Aloha Roses and Flowers" appeared in today's Austin American-Statesman. They host monthly Luaus, complete with hula and fire dancers. It sounds like a pretty cool event, except for the lack of alcoholic beverages.

Have any of the Texas Ohana attended one of these? It might be a good venue for a gathering sometime in the near future (especially if we can convince the proprieters to let us smuggle in some booze).

If you ask them to Let you smuggle in the booze then you won't be smuggling it in. Are we Pirates here or wimps. Smuggle the stuff in and enjoy it ARRRG

Ditto that! Besides their booze rule is really more like what you might call a guideline.

We had heard about the monthly luaus, but hadn't made it down (from Austin) for one. Sounds like a tiki road trip is in order. Dobrolic, Menehune & I would be interested, esp. if other ohana are going.
Might even consider a stop at at El Tropicano's bar: (http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=28137&forum=2)
