The Music Foundation of Hawaii's annual Hawaii Music Awards competition has commenced... and we call upon you, the readers of Tiki Central to help vote on our behalf. http://hawaiimusicawards.com/voting/ In this year's Exotica Album of the Year category is a compilation of fine exotica and hapa-haole standards. The bulk of the music on the album is arranged and performed by WAITIKI, but King Kukulele & The Friki Tikis contribute a track ("I'm Carrying A Tiki Torch For You"), and producers Jim & Liz Beloff (of Flea Market Music Inc.) also are featured as vocalists on their originals "Sunrise at Haleakala," and "The Hawaiian Turnaround." Other album guests include Chris Kamaka (of Kamaka Ukulele and the Hawaiian group Ho'okena) and Bruce Belland (of The Four Preps). Although Paradise Lost & Found is this year's only nominee in the Exotica category, we ask that you please kokua and show your support for the artists on this album—and vote! The album needs to hit a certain threshold of votes in order to receive the award... each of your votes will still count! A valid email address is required to vote. Only one vote can be placed per email address, however, there is no limit on how many email addresses can be used.
