See Beautiful James Lileks Sites! - Beyond Tiki

Then in a Marketplace thread bigbrotiki posted a link to Lileks's It's the Gobbler...the grooviest motel in Wisconsin! Not being as "hip" or "with it" as the rest of you folks I'd never seen the Gobbler. The site is well worth a visit as the Gobbler was a real mind blower. One of those places it's hard to believe ever actually existed. Most of Lileks's sites will be appealing to the average Tiki Centrallite especially his Restaurant Postcards and Matchbook Museum and The Institute of Official Cheer. And besides being a catologer of lost things Lileks is damned funny, too.
