Cheap, but nice, Dining in Pasadena

Pages: 1 7 replies

I am picking up the tab for a family dinner of about 6 in Pasadena and am hoping to do so without having to declare bankruptcy.

I thought of Louise's Old Town or Crocodile Cafe on Lake.
Burger Continental was vetoed as not nice enough.
Mike & Anne's on Mission is nice if it is warm outside.

Any suggestions? Mahalo.

There is a quite good Mexican restaurant on Lake between the 210 and Orange Grove. I think Earlham is the nearest street, and it is on the west side of the street. I can't remember the name. I call it "cranberries" 'cause it kind of sounds like that. Not very expensive and very good food. Further up Lake there is a Roscoe's.

Cabreras. It is called Cabreras.

Just go a little farther to Rosemead and go to Bahooka's. Get a couple of strong drinks and you won't notice the tab (which is pretty reasonable anyway).

Or to the West and hit Damon's in Glendale.
Unfortunately, I am not sure this will be a Tiki evening.

These are excellent suggestions. I will strongly consider any others.

Roscoe's House Of Chicken N' Waffles on Lake Ave near Mountain.

Love going to Saladang Song (Thai food) on Fair Oaks.
Excellent food and contemporary atmosphere.
A little farther down is Gus's BBQ on Fair Oaks in S.Pasadena.
Great food and a more traditional atmosphere but nice since they updated the interior.

On Fair Oaks, about 1/2 block S of Colorado, is a nice little Indian restaurant, it is called "All India Cafe", fantastic food, reasonable prices.
