Tiki Scrubs

Pages: 1 11 replies

Instead of working, I am embarassed to say I spent the last 40 minutes seeking a Tiki scrub top, but at least I found it:

I have been wearing Hawaiian print scrubs for years! Thanks for the link! I want the Rapa Nui one! I don't have any with actual tikis/moais on them! The Uke one is cool, but XXXL? I wear S! Gotta have tiki at work! How can patients be stressed when someone is wearing Hawaiian prints?

I was ready to pass this on to an old college buddy who is a family practice doctor but then I discovered the links at the bottom of the page don't work. Does anyone have a URL to a working website where these can be ordered?

Looks like they just didn't update their links. Go from the homepage:

Thanks for the link. I'm always looking for Hawaiian scrubs for my boyfriend.

Here is another good source of Hawaiian print scrubs.

Thanks for the working links. I have forwarded them to my doctor friend.

There is some cool stuff there. I end up making my own scrubs 'cuz I don't do boring. You can find all the kittens and butterflies you want, but choices for men's scrubs are usually limited to 3 shades of blue.

Hey MDM! I make my own scrubs sometimes too! I am at a new office and they are waiting for my probation to be over before they get new scrubs for everyone. That's like, 8 days away. Unfortunately my review should be the 14th-my birthday. hopefully it will be good! Anyway, they wear boring solid colors. Some have shown an interest in my print scrub tops. So....I'm thinking of getting or making a tiki scrub. If I order it, maybe the rest of the office could get it too.

I could convert a whole office to tiki!!! But then I'd have even more competition in finding stuff in the wild....hmmm, gotta think this through.

http://www.scrubmed.com also has some Hawaiian scrubs. Including some in long sleeved style. I've been wearing the long sleeved ones in winter for years. Check out the Kon Tiki print and some of the others!

One more place to check out for Hawaiian print scrubs is http://www.hawaiianfabric.com/content/scrubs.cfm . They are a tad bit more expensive than those websites already mentioned, but you can pick your own material, and they make it up for you. I've gotten a few scrubs and aloha shirts from this place and they do a great job. In fact, the matching aloha shirts we (croe67, skitiki & me) wore for our room crawl for last years Tiki Oasis were from them.

Cheers.

Tacky, the other reason I make my own scrubs is so they fit the way I like. Although I am putting on a few pounds, my shoulders are still wider than my waist. I make the sleeves long enough to cover my scrawny arms and I make my scrubs a foot longer than the ones you buy because I like them to stay tucked in :D

Mike-do you make long sleeved scrub tops? I haven't found a pattern yet. I may have to combine sleeves from different patterns to get the right thing-IF I find a tiki fabric I like. So far I'm leaning toward buying the Rapa Nui in men's long sleeves for next winter. I'm holding off because we are ordering new scrubs for the office soon and will be deciding on colors. I wear a lab coat/jacket like most, so if I go crazy with tiki long sleeves next winter no one who cares will really know. I wonder if I can get the whole office to go tiki??

Tacky, mine are all short sleeve. It's a very simple pattern, just 2 T shaped pieces stitched together, no separate sleeves. The only tricky part is the neck.

I think you should lobby for office-wide tiki scrubs :)
