The item: A pound of buttermints individually wrapped with "Aloha" on the wrapper.
The question: "Are the mints Tiki shaped? Are these mints that are meant to be offered to a Tiki god?"
The excuse: "Tiki just goes with Hawaii and that is all."

Dang. I was hoping for some more wiggling of words.

The items: Two dresses with tropical patterns.
The question: I couldn't see any Tikis on the dresses. Did they not show up in the photos? If there are no Tikis did you mean that these are dresses meant to be worn by Tiki gods? Or are they some sort of pagan ritual garb meant to be worn for Tiki worship?
The excuse: "Tiki is a search word, tiki is an adjetive (sic) duh!"

The items: Two aqua plastic cone shaped table lamps from the 50's
The question: Are there Tikis on the inside of the shades that show up when the lamps are on? If not, did you mean that these lamps were used in Tiki temples?
The excuse: "I only meant that these are popular to use when setting up a Tiki bar...No Tiki Gods appear at all."

woofmutt,
Excellent idea! I'm going to start doing the same. If we can't stop the abuse, maybe we can at least annoy the abusers into stopping the abuse on the their own!

Woofmut: Brilliant! Keep it up!

Woofmutt. The Tikinator.

Keep up the righteous fight. Awesome.

Here's another one. I'm still trying to figure out how he believes this is tiki:

Here's one where the seller admits to lies & deception in the ad itself!

Oh well, confession is good for the soul, they say.

My favorite is when there is a slew of unrelated words in the description meant to draw in as many searches as possible (with no relation to the actual item), viz:

"Tiki, atomic, Eames era, modern, moderne, postwar, prewar, world war, retro, Eichler, vintage, antique, Bachelor Pad, lounge, space age, mod, op-art Bag of dust from the collection of a Shag inspired artist's basement. Buyer pays $92.00 shipping (insurance and handling extra.) Please ask questions before bidding (but don't expect an answer!)

And yet another one. This guy uses "Trader Vics" in his auction title. How the hell is this related to Trader Vics????

OK - I get it - this person makes candles that smell like famous drinks - check the "other items they have for sale" - still pretty lame though....
