Your chance to pick up rare Shag paintings, prints and more, September 12

Fans of Shag - here is your chance to pick up some cool stuff that has for the most part been long unavailable. Billy Shire Fine Arts will be selling a cache of Shag art, merchandise and ephemera including the bamboo-framed "The Perils of Trying Too Hard," the "Departure Idlewild, Stopover Borneo, Arrival Ape City" triptych, numerous long out-of-print serigraphs (many dating pre-2004,) a limited number of poly-bagged “Paintings by Shag” from the 2007 “Conspicuous Consumption” exhibition, the "12 Stations of Ptolemy Folio" collection of 12 zodiac prints, signed casino chips, shot glasses, a very limited edition charm bracelet, bar stools, tiki decanters, mugs, toys and more, all on a first-come, first served basis. Here is list of prints that will be available:

I picked up two...

was very cool to see some of these that were orriginals,
not prints.

the brushstrokes totally stand out.
where they get lost in the print versions.

was small, but good to stop by and grab a peek.
