Visiting San Francisco, looking for drinking buddies

Hello,
I'm in San Francisco weekend of 24th Sept to 28th. Looking for some friendly faces to go for cocktails. Only place I've been is the Tonga Room. Not the type to just turn up at a bar and hope someone will talk to me! Would be great to meet some other Tiki types. Also visiting Palm Springs and LA.

Alameda is across the bay from SF. You can catch Bart (the underground system) to Lake Merrit Bart Station (Oakland) and then get a cab from there. It's a mile or two from the station.

I believe cabs are more readily accessible at the Downtown Oakland (12th Street) Station. They have a taxi stand on 13th & Broadway. Still only a couple miles to the lounge from there.
