Tikis in a New Science Fiction Movie

Pages: 1 3 replies

Hello Tiki Central

I was recently involved with production on a new science fiction movie being made in Minnesota called Destination: Outer Space. This is the latest production of imitation 1950's scifi/horror movies by indie director Chris Mihm. For an alien bar scene we used some of my tiki mugs including the tiki farm Psycho Suzi's mug and some Méndez-Ruiz mugs.

I suspect there is a significant overlap in the type of people who appreciate tikis and that like 1950's scifi movies so I hope these tikis will introduce some new fans to Mr. Mihm's movies. See http://www.sainteuphoria.com/ for more information. Additionally there is an opportunity to get one's name in the credits as an associate producer by pre-buying premiere tickets for next spring and dvd copies which is how I got involved.

FYI The trailer for this movie is up. The trailer does have a brief image of a tiki mask on a wall.

That looks a lot like 'Dr Tiki' of Tikibar TV at 0:55.

OMG - that was HE-LARIOUS! I'm, still wiping tears from my eyes (or one great BIG eye for a head!) I loved the "Tiki" head guy that "beams" the guy aboard...who then faints!
