My Leeteg Velvet

Pages: 1 8 replies

Aloha!

I've always wanted an original Leeteg, but
the ones I've wanted usually go for 10G's and up!
Well, I got one for considerably a lot less. It's got some
dings, hence the lower price, but is a real beaute
nonetheless. And it's got the signed paperwork appraisal
from Barney Davis' Gallery on the back to boot!

Here she is....

Nice!

Saw this one up for grabs but decided against it.

I'm really glad this went to a good home. Thanks for sharing.

What a beauty! That little titty damage just gives it character, otherwise it is in such good condition it seems! And the description is right, I have NEVER seen this one before, it must be a one-of-a-kind!

I agree bigbro! I spoke with the previous owner before
buying it, and he said his father bought the painting back in '72
from Aloha Barney Davis. Barney mentioned that it must have been
painted shortly before Leeteg's fateful motorbike ride.
Which might/would explain no other duplicates. Either way
I'm stoked!

Just hung her. Painting is 26x34. My walls are greenish blue, similar to Leeteg's
halo/aura effect, but the flash blows it out. Love the subtle
skin tones. I think this is the first Leeteg I've seen without glass
covering it. I've got a lot to learn about velvet and now I can look
at this beauty and hopefully soak it in.
Stoked!

Das a nice one! You give to GROG?

I don't want to seem like pervert here, but can you post pics of the titty damage. I agree with BigBro that it only gives it character. What do you think happened? Someone spilled something? A mai tai hopefully.

Here is a closeup of the damage. Shame really. Don't know how it happened. Belonged
to the sellers father before he died. Perhaps it was in storage for a while. Can't imagine
this happened just hanging on a wall. Love it nonetheless!
