Help with a Decal on the back of a wood carving

Hi folks and I just picked up this carving and I dont really know who carved it but there is a decal on the back and for some reason I know I should know more about this decal,it stirs something in my memory but I am drawing a blank so if anybody can help PLEASE HELP A OLD MAN OUT lol. SAM

This is when Bamboo Ben was in his "vision quest carving days" during the 70's.

I have no idea why but that decal looks familiar to me too. Maybe it just looks familiar because you said it looks familiar lol? Let us know if you find out where it's from.

Sort of looks like the Vernor's Ginger Ale gnome. Maybe that's why it looks familiar?

O.K. someone out there needs to figure this out soon! It's driving me nuts, I know I've seen it before to. This may just confuse things but it sure reminds me of Kim Deitch's work.
