Hawaiian Hurricane Popcorn and Typhoon Popcorn

Pages: 1 0 replies

I've been a fan of Hurricane Popcorn from the Hawaii Popcorn Company since I first had some years ago in Maui.

Just last night I tried their Typhoon Popcorn. It was AWESOME.

What's the difference? The Hurricane popcorn is a microwave popcorn with rice crackers, nori and a butter topping. It comes with a bag where you shake together the toppings with the freshly popped popcorn. The Typhoon popcorn is similar but instead of rice crackers it has a sour cream & chives seasoning. Both are well worth the trouble. One bit of advice, once you put everything in the shake bag, inflate the bag with air, twist it shut, and then shake. Having the bag inflated makes it easier to shake everything together.

I picked up the Typhoon popcorn at Marukai, a local Japanese market, they have a Hawaiian food section. If you can't find it locally, you can buy it direct from The Hawaii Popcorn Company via their website:

I suggest you all go out and track some down ASAP. You'll thank me later.
