I picked this up in Chile prior to the earthquake. It is about 20" high. Can anyone help me with the name of this Tiki God? It was supposedly carved on Rapa Nui some time ago. Thanks. |

this tiki was designed specifically to protect against earthquakes...legend has it that once removed from it's native land, terrible earthquakes would occur..... ..now your in big, big trouble..... -i'm kidding....it looks to be a variation on a lono tiki or ku tiki..... I had already thought of the earthquake angle. I will sacrifice my wife to the statue. Maybe that will help. |

It is hard to say which Hawaiian ki'i it is, but it is Hawaiian style, not Rapa Nui, it may have been carved on Easter Island, however. |
