I went 3 years ago and stayed at the Best Western in town and was very happy with it. The views were amazing from the back deck of our room and it was in a good central location. You can spend days wandering the little shops and galleries in town. There is a visitors center at the south entrance of town which is a weatlh of info on the trails and things to do.

We stayed at the Best Western Inn of Sedona, great place at a reasonable price. Plus free breakfast with make-your-own BELGIAN WAFFLES!!!! :D Did some hiking, some shopping, a lot of eating, spent a day at Slide Rock - all very relaxing.
