NOW comedian Bob Perkell brings his high energy & unpredictability to Don the Beachcomber!

This two-decade veteran of stand-up has performed in countless comedy clubs,
produced 150+ one-man shows in the US and England,
and has been involved with multiple overseas comedy tours for our military troops...
... and has everyone laughing every step of the way!

While Bob looks at his comedy as “sharing all the voices in his head out loud,”
audiences look at it as just plain funny.

We welcome Bob and his friends to DTB for our
Comedy Night this Thursday, July 15 at 8:30 p.m.

Yes there was and this is so wrong.

Isn't there historical Poly-Pop precedence for this ? Comedy was always part of Don Ho's stage show.

And yes, Don Ho was Tiki !! (as legitimized on the "Sven A. Kirsten Presents The Sound of Tiki" CD).

Update - OK maybe not the highest point of Tiki-style, but he did garner his own Tiki mug. :)

Because it's just a guy using the stage, it's got nothing to do with the environment of Don's, it's about putting butts in the seats, that's all. Nothing against Bob Perkell or even Don's for having him but overall it's not something that should be promoted on Tiki Central. I've said it before but stuff like this Don's should be able to promote on their own, somewhere else.

It was nice of you to cut and paste the press release for the show though. I bet you can't wait to attend. :lol:

I love comedy, and I love tiki... AND I'll be in HB on Thursday the 22nd! I'll be there for that show!

My Parents and Grands used to take us to the DTB in CDM on PCH.

They put us on stage with the "Smothers Brothers" and make us do silly things

during their comedy show.

I'll never forget winning an apple pie for making my balloon pop first.

If it takes comedy to keep a tiki bar alive then so be it.

Same if it takes flat screens with sports.

It is what it is........
