1930s Amelia Earhart photo exhibit at the Royal Hawaiian

Any of our Hawaiian 'Ohana wanna give us a review of the Amelia Earhart photo exhibit at the Royal Hawaiian? The Matson Navigation Company found a trove of old photos from 1935 when she vacationed there. There is at least one pic with Duke Kahanamoku, but old photos of Hawaii are always cool...

I found the pictures, um, quite ordinary. They are displayed in the Coronet Lounge. There are 65 from 1934-35. There are two of Duke, Amelia and a pineapple. Amelia (and husband) on the Lurline. Draped with lei at Aloha Tower, being seranaded by musicians at the Royal Hawaiian, viewing maps, drinking tea in a kimono. The Royal has enlarged a few and printed them on canvas. I spent about 10 (or less) minutes looking. I'm much more interested in the Eugene Savage Matson menu paintings in other parts of the lobby. Matson, btw, owned the Royal (and a few other hotels) before selling their properties in the islands to concentrate on shipping goods to Hawaii. Glad at least that someone is at least looking in the Matson Archives. There's plenty there I'm sure to be discovered.
