Tiki on the Colorado River

Pages: 1 3 replies

Just got back from a trip to Parker AZ and saw this A-Frame, is it some TCer's secret hideaway? I assume that's a tiki on the right but hard to make out features. Located on the California side, about a mile up-river from the Bluewater Casino.

oh its just my future vacation house.

I wish!

I used to travel to Parker quite a bit for work. There used to be a breakfast burrito shop at the intersection of the 95 and Riverside Drive. It had a Hawaiian theme. It's closed now and the owner is rumoured to be in jail. I digress. This place (besides having unbelievable breakfast burritos) was full of vintage tiki and surf artifacts from floor to ceiling. Big tikis, little tikis, not so many mugs, all sorts of crusty old vintage surfboards and magazines. I rarely have reason to go to Parker anymore but I always ask questions about that place when I do. I haven't gotten anywhere yet. The locals in these little isolated AZ towns are not the most open people in the world.

I've never seen the house as I've never been to the CA side of Parker. I didn't mean to de-rail, just wanted to mention that there is a potential treasure trove of tiki in Parker. Probably collecting dust in someone's boat shed.

Thanks Surfalaia - not a de-rail at all, still about Tiki on the Colorado :)
