Open Mic Night at Hulaville

Pages: 1 0 replies

In addition to its popular Ukulele Sundays kanikapila (Hawaiian-style jam session), Hulaville Island Café and Company Store now hosts Hulaville Open Mic Night, every Thursday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Jean Navarra, Hulaville owner and former Oahu resident, invites all ukulele, guitar, keyboard, and other musicians, along with singers and hula dancers, to step up to the microphone or take to the dance floor to strut their stuff as a solo, duet, or small group. Here’s the chance to showcase your talents for an appreciative audience.

Musicians: An amp and microphone are provided – or bring your own if you prefer. Singers: Can’t play an instrument? No problem, Jean has song books - or bring your own music. Someone will be glad to accompany you. Hula Dancers: Digital (CD, mp3, iPod, etc.) hook-ups are available if you prefer to dance to your own recorded music – or dance along with the live music as it is played. Authentic Hawaiian food along with Jean’s own culinary creations plus tasteful tiki décor in the tradition of the Enchanted Tiki Room provide the perfect setting for island-style tunes - but all types of music are welcomed. Stop-by to play, sing, hula, or just kick back in a tropical setting to relax, listen, and watch. Hulaville Open Mic Night happens every Thursday.
