I seriously don't think the issue about this thread is whether all the sincerely posted images were Tiki or not.

The main issue is that this is not a thread which provides any useful content. It's a "time killer or non-informative" thread.

Shit! Wrong thread.

Uhm, let me see if I can muster up some outrage...OK, I think I'm riled up now. Let's give it a whirl...

No words!

GROG, what crawled up your happy hole and died?

Why dost thou persecute me so?

You may think you're cool and everyone is laughing but I laughed at jokes like this a long time ago and also a lot of people have sent me PMs telling me I'm awesome and someone even sent me an FTD® You're Super Cool!® bouquet which also comes with bite size brownie treats. Has anyone ever sent you flowers AND bite size brownie treats, GROG? Probably not because you are too busy being mean and also you don't wear pants or shirts which I have worn since like 1965 and they're awesome, not that you would know about that because your head is probably full of rocks and mine is full of brains which means I can know things but all you can know is a cold hard rattling sound!

W

Sorry to everyone who has posted the sort of Not Tiki! things I approve of to this thread. But someone has to tell GROG he's mean. Because with his amazing talent and unbridled sexiness he'd just walk around like he owns the place unless he knows he's mean and not funny and not cool and has rocks for brains.

OK back to Not Tiki! stuff...

TS

Right thread!

evidently even though they play at some tiki events, and were at Don the Beachcomber last night.

are not Tiki, as hardly nobody from TC locally goes to see them.
bangin' my head against the wall about this, and can't figure it out.

and someone on TC said recently that this isn't a Tiki.
Really?
wow I've been so misguided.

what is the world coming to?

oh wait, don't answer that.

It's really simple Jeff....the Smokin' menehunes are not Tiki, never have been Tiki and never will be Tiki.

Maybe if we were more silly and more goofy, and wore funny costumes...maybe then we would be Tiki.

But, Vintage Hawaiian music is not Tiki. Everyone knows! Palika spent his whole life growing up in Hawaii, spent his youth hanging out on the beach singing naughty songs on his ukelele to the tourist gals...knew Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman personally...but he ain't Tiki either!

And neither am I!

Don Tiki?

Knott's not tiki?

You can buy tiki towels at Knott's Soak City in Buena Park, CA

Knott's Berry Farm Soak City Tiki Towels

Well, at least they call them tiki towels.

And another water park, Six Flags Hurricane Harbour, has a water slide called Tiki Falls

I don't go to water parks. I hate swimming in big tanks full of urine.

A five-string banjo may not be...but what about a banjo ukelele?

Or is that too George Formby to be tiki?

TM

Ukeleles, in general, are not Tiki. They are Hawaiian, and Hawaii is not Tiki either.

(At least by the definition of most of the posters on this forum except me)

It is not "A" Tiki but it "IS" part of Tiki
Or am I missing some Irony?

But somehow, electric guitars are tiki? Punk infused electric rifts of "The Munsters" are tiki?

Hmmmm, someone better speak to the Maori in New Zealand, the Tahitians in French Polynesia, and the Hawaiians.
