What's all the hubbub, bub?

I log on to TC almost every day, however I was working on the road last week and wasn't online for a few days so I missed whatever happened to cause Hanford to post his warnings about name calling and attacks here on TC. The offending posts were cleaned up before I returned, so I was just wondering what went down? Everyone has been really cool and civil to one another in the couple of years that I've been hanging around TC, so the whole thing came as quite a surprise to me.

I just wish that annoying header would go away.

I know rubbernecking cannot be avoided but I implore everyone to forget about it and move on. Talking about it here isn't going to do anything but keep embers smoldering.
