http://www.gilligansisle.com/kona.html this says the one in the episode was a replica and these are relicas of that replica. I wonder what became of the original. |

My guess would be that Buzzy has it stashed somewhere. :) |

All roads lead back to Tiki Central! :) This link appeared on the Gilligan website AFTER Tikiyaki's/Kirby's Gilligan event this October. The research mentioned in the link is based on my posts on Tiki Central, and the statue offered is a direct copy of my wooden Kona I posted in the event thread: http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=37718&forum=17&vpost=557949 http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=37718&forum=17&vpost=566074 Attentive Tiki Central readers are of course also aware of the post by DC that showed the Milan Guanko original that this Tiki was modeled after. :D I find the observation that the prop in the show was most likely plastic quite interesting, that might be so. Can't double-check, because I don't have a quality copy of "Waiting for Watubi" available. My lathe-carved specimen is palm wood, quite light actually. I field-collected it at Danny Balsz's "The Tikis", if I remember correctly. |

It might be cliché and crass, but we really need a like button here. |
