This Ebay listing has me stumped.

Interesting items skip!

I've never seen the bottom of a Mystery Bowl look like that. The paint job is different too. I thought these were made in Mexico? It does have the Hoffman Pottery logo though. Hmmmmm...

The albino ashtray does look real but never seen this before either.

Cheers and Mahalo,
Jeff

Just thinking out loud . . Wouldn't it be a lot of trouble to fake one? Sure, the payoff might be spectacular, but if you're really going to do it shouldn't you make it look like the menu photo? My guess is it's an undocumented but authentic piece.

Ashtray? Who knows. Looks simple enough to fake, much like some of the Trader Vic's Hawaii stuff.

Very interesting . .

It's real. I have seen 3 of them before.

Let me guess where you saw three at.

And Jeff the bottom is what made me think it was off.
Plus it has the same goofy brown smudge on both items.

The Mystery Bowl and the ashtray are in fact, authentic. The seller is an excellent seller and we have purchased from him before. He is mistaken about the ashtray as they were not made of chalk but rather a product called Pour Rock or Dur Rock which was a cement type mix. (it's been a long time ago). The ashtrays were not fired and that explains why you have discoloration and burn marks.

Thanks linda!
See you tonight.

Hey what about this mural behind Mr Ono?
Do you know where that was?

Yep, you guessed it, Ebay... I'd say they show up about 1 every year and a half.

Gee, I'm so shocked who won the bowl. ((sarcasm))

Here are the photos on the "mystery bowl" as the ebay link will soon disappear.

Pricey little number.

The volcano is made of packed, shaved ice and a half of a lemon. Put some high octane (151) in the lemon and ignite.
