Nice find. Surprised there was no mention of the Dr. Funk drink in the story by the relatives.

From Uncle Trav:

Here is a better look at the Dr. Funk artwork and another closeup of one of the drawings.

Some real archeology here, the quest to find Dr. Funk's memorial stone on the shores of Lake Lanutoo.

My husband Prof. Dr Reinhard Schmidt and myself climbed up to lake Lanutoo two times – last year and this year with our guide Eti Sapolu and some workers to clean the area and to look for that memorial stone. We found two foundations of the huts and some posts of the wharf in the lake, but not the stone. The whole area was overgrown by plants and roots of course – about 100 years are gone.

Especially for finding the memorial stone, we need contemporary photos of the location and the arrangement of the huts on the lake Lanutoo and the old German track to the lake.

Hope they find it.
