First of all, he will be performing in a free concert at Hulaville on Friday May 6th from 8-10pm to introduce people to the exotic sound of the steel guitar. Even though lap steel and pedal steel guitars are used in many types of music, this workshop will be concentrating on Hawaiian/Exotica. The workshops so far are in two sections, a beginners and Intermediate. An advanced may be scheduled later. Beginners: May 20, 27 & June 3 & 10 TECHNIQUES STUDIED: • The C6 fretboard: patterns to remember • Left and right hand techniques • How to play chords • How to play melody • How to accompany a singer Intermediate: July 8, 15, 22, 29 TECHNIQUES STUDIED: • The C6 fretboard: advanced patterns to remember • Left and right hand techniques: advanced • How to play chords: advanced • How to play melody: advanced • How to accompany a singer: advanced Each Workshop is offered for only $60.00 per person. Sign up for both Workshops for the discounted rate of only $100.00! Each participant will receive color charts and backing tracks! Each Musician should bring: A 6 or 8-string Lap Steel Guitar, C6 tuning, Finger picks and steel bar, a small amplifier These are all Fridays, workshops will be 7-9pm cost of each class is $60.00, sign up for both for discounted rate of $100. Guests are welcome.
