It has been restored by the new owner Curtis Fralin and now has a historical plaque that protects it as a landmark like Beverly Hill's Trader Vic's should have had. I was also just reading about a movie called BARE KNUCKLES that John Daniels starred in that featured him working there. It has also appeared in Coffy.
