O

Maverick's Flat is a music club in Los Angeles at 4225 Crenshaw Blvd. It was built in 1966 by the actor John Daniels and the Temptations who performed there in the sities named their first album Psychedelic Shack after Maverick's Flat. It has been restored by the new owner Curtis Fralin and now has a historical plaque that protects it as a landmark like Beverly Hill's Trader Vic's should have had.

Neat, I was just watching Black Dynamite last night, and the club is featured as the bar of Dynamite's "sidekick". I was also just reading about a movie called BARE KNUCKLES that John Daniels starred in that featured him working there. It has also appeared in Coffy.

Nice looking.
I grew up just down the street, and never made it.
