Staying true to the original Don the Beachcomber restaurant conceptualized in the 1930s by Donn Beach, the founding father of tiki, Arthur and Delia Snyder are introducing nine more of his original cocktails to the menu, which already features some of his classics!
TONIGHT!!
Penang Afrididi – this cocktail features rare & precious rums, combined with several fruit juices and Donn’s own flavors to make an extraordinary drink. To have it the way that Donn first created it in “Ernie’s Place” – his pre-Repeal “speakeasy” – ask your bartender for “an Original.” If you question your ability to finish this strong drink, ask for “Number 2,” which is half of the full sized “Number 1.” #1 $12/$14 “original” #2 $7/$9 “original”

Scorpion – this drink combines rum and brandy with lemon and orange juices, and a hint of almond!
This is one of our most tart drinks, second only to the Dr. Funk!

Dust off your copies of Monster Book of Monsters, try to find a copy of Madcap Magic for Wacky Warlocks*, and grab your wands for Year Two of Geeks Who Drink’s Geeky Cauldron, our second annual quiz devoted to the world of J.K. Rowling.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 will saturate U.S. theatres on July 15. Then that’s all she wrote, folks. No more movies, no more books. It’s back to our boring, un-magical muggle lives. So come show-off your Harry Potter knowledge at The Geeky Cauldron!
What is this? Here's the short version:
- Geeks Who Drink is a homegrown Pub Quiz modeled after those in Ireland and the UK.
- Quizzes cover everything from celebrities in trouble to wordplay to bad television.
- Each quiz has two audio rounds: a "Name that Tune” style round, and another round comprised of soundbites from movies and TV.
- Play in teams of up to six or by yourself if you're some kind of savant.
- If you want to play but don’t have a team, come anyway. We can usually get single players recruited onto an existing team.
- Winning teams gets street cred, bar cash and other prizes depending on the venue. Bonus Questions for free pints are sprinkled throughout the quiz.
- You don’t have to be a trivia God to enjoy the quiz. Since you’re playing on a team, the collective knowledge base makes for more fun, less pressure. It’s not final Jeopardy!

Jason Arimoto - "Facemelting" Ukulele
In the Dining Room for a special appearance is Jason Arimoto, a Hawaii-born, Los Angeles-based musician known on YouTube as “facemeltingukulele.” A featured artist on the Na Hoku Hano Hano Award winning album, Solo Ukulele: The King of Pop, Jason is a two-time winner of the Ukulele Underground Award for Best Vocal Performance of the Year. He has attracted a following for his blues ukulele covers of Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” and John Mayer’s “Gravity." His original music blends his island roots with reggae and blues, with soulful vocals combining with a bluesy ukulele tone. Jason has performed across the U.S. including the Bean Blossom Blues Festival in Indiana and the world famous Viper Room in Hollywood, California as well as internationally at the Cairns Ukulele Festival in Australia.

No Reggae Shows This Week!
If you didn't know, Don the Beachcomber is proud to play host to a new series of Reggae Shows featuring talented musicians who are noted in this genre and those that are on the rise! Some of these musicians have played with Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Kenny Loggins, Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper, Dennis Brown and Joe Higgs to name just a few.
NORMALLY: 3-6 p.m. and Tickets are $10 each at the door!
