fixing a tiki...what should I use???

So I have one that I cut a little too thin & a little too tall and it's waving in the wind. It's a coconut palm.

My plan is to sever it at the thin section, and with a 1 1/2 inch forstner bit drill about a foot into each and insert some sort off thick dowell or some kind of rod in there, fill it with some kind of bonding agent, and put humpty dumpty back toether again...

So the question is...what should I use?

Silicone?
Wood filler?
epoxy?
whale sperm?

any ideas? anyone already done it?

Sounds like your on the right track.
I've doweled & glued be for with success.
I used hard wood dowels, oak, ash. & wood glue or expanding glue.
Carve deep ! but not too deep.

I wood use Gorilla wood glue. just make sure you moisten the wood a little first and don't use too much.

Gorilla would glue is good but 2-part epoxy is better and will stay stronger despite wet/dry wood. 1 and 1/2 inch steel pipe will work great, much better than a wood dowel the same diameter. Hope this helps.
