This just in from the Chef's FB page...

Please join us New Years Eve 2011 for a "Winter Wonder Luau" and special evening of entertainment at Chef Shangri-La!

Our first show of the evening starts at 5:00 pm and stars Pesi Mauga’s Royal Polynesian Review who have been performing all over the Chicago area for over 20 years. Pesi who is from the island of Samoa, started performing in Hawaii, from there, he then performed at the Hawaiian Inn, in Florida for many years, and most recently the famous Shanghai Lils in Chicago for over 10 years (now closed); not only does he MC, but he also sings, dances, plays the ukulele, and does fire knife, but most importantly he connects with the audience with charm, and personality with a Don Ho style. The troupe is composed of a fire dancer, musicians, male, and female dancers. They do dances from Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti, and New Zealand in a true Polynesian way. The performance runs about an hour and a half, and we strongly suggest making reservations!!

The second show will begin at 9:30 pm and again stars Pesi Mauga’s Royal Polynesian Review. The show will run about an hour and a half, plus immediately following them will be none other than the Cocktail Preachers, who will be ringing in the New Year for the 5th year in a row. They will be doing 2 sets starting at 11:30 pm and running right thru the New Year. There will also be a late night FREE raffle (photo soon) sometime during the Cocktail Preachers performance. So come on out and join us in ringing 2012!!!!

Once again we strongly recommend that you call ahead for reservations @ 708-442-7080

Incredible New Years Eve bash at the Chef, :o :o :o 3 sold out performances!!!! Even though the last show started way late, we managed to squeeze everything in including a late night raffle. The Cocktail Preachers got the mic set up just in time to ring in the New Year, they then played a full set including material from their latest CD Intoxicating Sounds. We then raffled off some very groovy stuff, including some very cool swag from 2011 Mohave Oasis, an autographed copy of the book Waikiki Tiki, a custom DSK original Tiki lamp, 2003 & 3007 framed Exotica posters, a dozen each of FOM & Tiki paddle swizzles, a couple of Chef gift certificates, and some other stuff as well. It was nice to see a couple members of the band and the polynesian review win some of the goodies! The band came back for a couple more tunes and things rapped up around 1:30am! Thanx everybody who came out the night was a blast!!! We've got some pics to share soon. :D

Ok, here's some photos, and there may be more to come on FB soon...
