Tiki Friends, Tiki Man Mike and I are celebrating a big wedding anniversary next year. We are looking for a dreamy Polynesian 2nd honeymoon destination: beach, island, nearby Rum Distillery tour, delicious rum drinks and island food. Really isn't that what we all dream of?! We like kayaking, snorkeling, boating - but are happiest sitting on a gorgeous beach with great Tiki drinks being served up - minus our kids or anyone else's :). We will fly out of the Bay Area - open to a far away paradise like Fiji. We never get away like this, so appreciate any advice you can lend. Cheers! |

True Polynesian paradise and good Tiki mixology are mutually exclusive IMHO. These places in Hawaii might be the exception... http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=30590&forum=1&vpost=566634 I haven't been to the following but if Tonga Tom and Sherriyaki vouch for it then that's good enough for me. They know what a good cocktail is !! :) http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=37072&forum=2&vpost=610821 |

And how about having them served in Tiki mugs, while Martin Denny and other Exotica music is playing!? :D |

Kauai has all that, except I don't think the tiki drinks are up to connoisseur standards. |

http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=28941&forum=1&1 There are delicious rum drinks at Dukes as well as at the Grand Hyatt in Poipu. |

Not Tiki but San Juan, Puerto Rico is the Rum Capital of The World. It's a beautiful island with lots to see and do. |
