Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Fest/Tropical Marketplace 1/22 in Redondo Beach

The annual Slack Key Guitar Fest is happening at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday, January 22. I have been to this several times and the concert is wonderful! Plus, there is a free Hawaiian marketplace surrounding the Performing Arts Center (with food) that is like taking a mini shopping trip to the islands, without the airfare. I highly recommend this event and hope some of you can make it.

I have been to this 3 times, always a highlight of the winter for me.
and I would probably be going again if I didn't pull a bonehead move,
and book a show that day.

The guy that puts this on, is Mitch Chang that played on Sun. evening at last years
Tiki Caliente.

If you like Hawaiian Music, and the full immersion into the culture.
this is a must for you.

Well said, BTD! A full immersion into the Hawaiian culture is really what you'll experience if you go to this event. (Especially if you follow it up with dinner at "Back Home In Lahaina" or "King's Hawaiian" restaurant afterward!) Mitch Chang is a good guy who puts on a lot of island concerts and events in the L.A. area. If nothing else, you should sign up for his website newsletter, "Kala Koa Entertainment" and keep informed about the shows coming up. Fun stuff!

I am really bummed I am going to miss this.
