I recently discovered the Kim Sisters - a vocal act of three sisters from Korea - on an old episode of Ed Sullivan. Coincidentally, I found their debut US LP, on the Monument label, at a record show a week or two later. It's a real mixed bag, a combination of eastern/exotic things like "China Nights" and "The Hawaiian Wedding Song," some godawful schlock like "Danny Boy," and, if you can believe it, Leiber & Stoller's "Charlie Brown." I don't know how many more albums they made. This album is from the early 60s. Checking eBay, they made a number of singles for the Monument label also. |

The album isn't as good as their Ed Sullivan appearances. They were always great on that show. Still I like the 4 or 5 eastern/Hawaiian tracks on the album. |
